This code will truncate specified text with ellipses. It is very usefull for displaying long strings in textboxes and title bars. It will even truncate a pathname similar to windows.

This program uses DirectDraw 7 to display sharks swimming around and other stuff (check the screenshot). I created this because I 'discovered' class modules to move sprites around which simplifies the code alot, and allows easy implementation of more sprites. Ok, if any of you out there have the free version of vb, you have probably noticed that it will not let you compile your projects.. (DUH!!!)Well I think you will all be pleased, cause I found a way to do it.. If you have vb5 or vb6 free edition, then just copy link.exe into your dir were vb5.exe or vb6.exe is located, (Dont worry, I have included link.exe for both vb5, and vb6 in the zip file) Then goto the command prompt, and type the following command... 1st make sure your in your vb dir, in the command prompt. Should be something like this, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\vb98\ Something like that, just make sure your in the correct dir were vb5.exe or vb6.exe is stored, Then type the following command, vb5 /m project.vbp or vb6 /m project.vbp If you have copied the new link.exe into your vb path, your project will compile fine. This is title scrolling at its simplest and best i suppose. Well The Purpose of this code is for ppl who are just learning like me, and want something that they can understand. Plenty of comments that are clear and make sense. Plus a second project inside to make things a little harder, it lets you work out how it was done. This isn't mega-stuff, its really for just learners =) Anyways, enjoy.

Well, this code does picture effects like rotate and invert, birighten, darken etc etc.... Except! It is using do loops. No calls from DLL's or anything. Just pure VB code. It's for beginners once again, that like i few ppl I know, have no clue of API calls or anything like that.
